This path acquiants you with smaller part of Šance, piece of ground. Great fortification is connected with Závist and leads through Břežany Valley. This fact secured for the citadel permanent source of water. In Břežany brook, there was even made gold-washing. The fortification is the only proof that Šance was constructed by Celtics. However, the archaeological investigation found nothing here.
When you leave the path and go ahead, in order to see north-east part of piece of ground, you can see four-cornered object, surrounded by a ditch. This path is more specialized for nature science as for the archaeology. The places, which were colonized in primeval age, the nature returned here consequently. At present, this area is protected as Šance nature reservation.
The place is covered with a forest. Clay stratta is deep couple of centimetres only. Below the clay, a rock or stones could be found. This has, as a consequence, slow growth of trees, so its tribes are thin. So, in case of several trees, mostly in case of oaks, there are growing more trunks from roots.
This area is quite popular by entomologists, just since 18th century. The scientists are studying conditions, favourable for the life of insects.
