DĚČÍN – BAD SCHANDAU- DRESDEN
Nerby the river: Elbe
An excellent path across the border along left bank of Elbe-river. The path is possible to start from Dolní Žleb up to Dresden and it is splendid. A little complicated section is to be found between Bad Schandau (from Krippen it is necessary to use the ferry) and Konigstein (it is necessary to cross the river back to opposite Elbe bank) – hills, damaged pavement and 500m with cubic surface, further the surface of similar type near to Dresden in 1 km distance.
The ticket from Děčín to Schona costs CZK 50,- further you can continue FREE OF CHARGE up to Dresden – valid for both directions (so, the beginners can avoid from difficult section Krippen-Konigstein – passable on opposite part of Elbe-river, the fee for ferry can be saved-2x 0,75 EUR).
The route from Dolní Žleb to Bad Schandau is 12 kms long. Passable sections from Dresden to Dolní Žleb are 60 kms long.
Anyway, it is a marvellous skating with magnific views on picturesques sandstone rocks in Elbe-valley.Access: by car or by train to Dolní Žleb, or by ferry from Hřensko.
