Toušeň Peat-bog Spa is situated inside mixed forests Region of Central Bohemia, along confluence of rivers Labe (Elbe) and Jizera, in an altitude of 190 metres above sea level.
The town´s history is rich, and could be dated towards time period of 3000 years B.C., according to archaeological findings. Local iron spring caused the foundation of first small spa buildings in 1868. The inhabitants used it also earlier for treatment purposes. Nevertheless, the greatest boom of balneology came in the second half of 19th century. In 1899, sulphur-iron peat-bogs baths from local source increased also former treatment procedures. Anyway, recover stays are recommended at treatment of body-apparatus as well as of cardio-vascular diseases.
Pleasant spa-park with colonnade as well as plain afforested contryside enables walks also for less movable visitors. The area environs offers cycling and tourist routes, fishing possibilities and mushroom collections.
