Wallenstein Loggia
This Baroque complex, (which was never terminated), constructed according to plans of N. Sebregondi, was built within 1632-1634. The area of garden and preserve is constructed on longitudinal vista axis. The buildings have three floors, two rooms.on each level in its garden front side. The building represented, as far as its importance is concerned, town´s villa. The courtyard in front of the loggia is formed with three-wings ground-floor house, which probably served as a lounge for servants, stables, magazines and kitchens. Direct alley-lane from Jičín towards Valdice abbey (established in 1632) passes through south and north portal. However, after 1634, this unfinished area was not maintained any more, so it was completely deserted in 1757, and moreover, it was seriously damaged later by great fire in 1768.
Nevertheless, the complex undergone complete reconstruction (the costs were covered by Frank Norbert Trautmannsdorf, according to plans of architect F.Heger). The courtyard buildings were changed into flats and covered with vaulted roofs. The loggia was newly covered with mansarda roof and changed into a pub. In 1813, Ferdinand Trautmannsdorf let to make the interior arrangements, even the facades were changed in similar style, and the garden changed into nature park. However, since 1850, the object was not fully used for, so the buildings ceised to decay. In 1936, the loggia was bought by the town of Jičín, and within 1937-1938 the buildings were reconstructed again. Anyway, the functional use of this object was not effected even at present.
