Lookout tower

Beroun look out tower
This look out tower is placed here by chance. In 1934, Beroun Company Jelínek and Sons obtained an order for construction of a reservoir on Městská hora (Town´s Hill). Nevertheless, this company presented a suggestion to build on top concrete view tower. Procuction costs would be CZK 50000, but councillors, despite the fact that this suggestion was acceptable for them, agreed to the sum of CZK 35000,- only. So, the company was forced to change their plans and follow new varianta. The look out tower was open for public within Easter Holidays in 1936. The operation was secured by the town, and the entrance fee was introduced. Building course was looked after by war disabled soldier, for 20% share from sold tickets.
