Priessnitz Healing Spa - Jeseník
The area of Priessnitz spa-buildings is situated on slopes of Jeseník Mountains, Olomouc Region, in an altitude of 620 meteres above sea level. The spa was established in 1822, as the first water-healing institute in Central Europe. Vincent Priessnitz, known as „water doctor“, was its founder. He tried to cure by means of cold spring water and work therapy.
Thanks to him, water-healing equipments all over Europe were created. Priessnitz tried to introduce his life principle:, i.e. „man´s return to the nature“. For treatment, he used cold poultices, packings, baths, perspiratory cures, working therapy, enough sleep and regular diet (way of living). So, today´s modernized spa continues its activity in such spiritual way. To local nature healing sources belong 80 springs, welling up from not distant Studničný Hill, together with unique climatic conditions, suitable for treatment of respiratory ways, troubles of circulation organism, nerve system and skin troubles.
All year round stay-possibility here, could be more pleasant by knowing nature places of interest in outskirts, historical sightseeings, caves or by sporting activities. In winter saison, you can take advantage of several ski centres or local ski-towages.
