Zlaté Psí Hory (Golden Dog's Mountains)
Nerby the river: Vltava
Inside auroferous ore, near to the community of Mokrsko, there are hidden at least 50 tonns of gold. The Australian miners wished to gain this strattum. Nevertheless, they did not obtained the permission from ecologists, otherwise it could mean that all surrounding countryside could be totally destroyed.
This strattum is not new discovery. Just in Middle Ages, a gold was excavatedhere, and the galleries were approx. 20 metres deep. Old gallery, which is landslipped at present, forms a funnel of 14 metres diameter and depth of 7 metres. Not far from here, a Middle Age forge was discovered. In 14th century, the instruments for miners were manufactured here. The strattum is reaching the north direction, towards Vltava river. Anyway, the rests of old mines are not striking, you can distinguish it only according to terrain unevenness. Some places are protected. We protect it from the reason that on places, where the gold was excavated, rare and value plants are growing.
Rests of sand, which remained after ore working (Roudný locality) are known as unique insects´ locality. In the earth, some rests of gold are to be found, and this was not worth to be mined. So, it depends on you if you wish to have gold or some nice countryside. Along the route, there are 12 stops together. The route is destined for foot passengers only.
