Petřín labyrinth

This pavillon belonged to  Bohemian Tourists´Club in past. The building was constructed for the occasion of Jubilee Exhibition in 1891. Later, it was transferred to Petřín Hill. Inside, you find, mirror-labyrinth and diorama, (picture) presenting a fight of Prague students on Charles Bridge with Swedish troops. This picture is 10,5 metres long, and its authors are artists Charles and Adolf Liebscher. The sightseeing, including information is effected by Prague Information Service Centre. As far as the labyrinth is concerned, it is a system of 31 standard and 14 distorted (bended) mirrors. After several collisions, you take the opinion, that you cannot move ahead nor back. Everywhere, all around you, you see your own picture. The labyrinth was constructed according projects of architect Wiehl. From its outside part, it is a copy of former Gothic gate of Vyšehrad, known as a point. It is to be assumed that as a model and inspiration, there was mirror labyrinth in Pratr Park in Vienna.
