Right at the edge of the inconspicuous Choceň begins the beautiful valley of Tichá Orlice. Although the city has never been significant, in the 19th century it became an important railway junction, which is still today. You can visit the castle, baroque church or Tyršovo Square. Choceň, however, serves as a great starting point for trips to the surrounding countryside. Amazing views of the valley awaits you in the Peliny Nature Reserve, you can also visit Devil's Gorge or the ruins of Brandys Castle.

We left Republiky sqaure for St Wenceslas Cathedral situated on Wenceslas square. The cathedral houses Roman Catholic archdiocesis of Olomouc. The grandiose Romanesque/Gothic structure has some Baroque features and rich decoration of sculptures. It is true jaded gem of the city.
