Fairytale town of Jičín, placed in Jičín Hilly Country, along Cidlina-river, belongs to most beautiful towns of the Czech Republic. Jičín became famous thanks to its fairy-tale figures, created by Václav Čtvrtek and Radek Pilař. Apart of this, even Albrecht of Wallenstein re-established the town in past.
It does not exist any most popular locality, as far as ski-jumping or ski-fly are concerned, as Harrachov in Giant Mountains. Despite the fact that jumping area looks rather deserted during working days, you can feel always sporting spirit of this important mountain resort on each step.
"This is too distant and long, similar to Lovosice!" nearly anybody knows such comparison, mostly those individuals who know this town personally. We do not mention the number of letters of this word (many people have such opinion) but we take in mind real length of the locality. So, Lovosice, "The Garden of Bohemia", is really the town of rather big length.
Welcome in fairytale town, welcome in Jičín! Who would like to visit historical nucleus of this locality, situated in Bohemian Paradise, a couple of kilometers from Prachovské Rocks, he would feel like in a fable, if he wishes or not. Moreover, most of us connect Jičín with Rumcajs, famous robber, unforgettable figure, created by writer Václav Čtvrtek!
Hrubá Skála and its vicinity have everything one has sought in locality called Bohemian Paradise from time immemorial. It is a piece of beautiful land, forests, rocks and sights, which looks like they were taken from some fairy tales. A castle on Hrubá Skála is not the only attraction of land of sandstone rocks, a land located between the Region of Liberec, Královehradecký and Středočeský. Turnov is a central city of this area.
The third and the last part of our journey in the Hruboskalský region will end at Valdštejn Castle, as the title suggests. It will not be the only stop since there are many other places worth visiting.
Humprecht Castle, a hunting castle, is located close to the town of Sobotka. The castle is clearly visible for it is situated on a hill, however, it is surrounded by a dense forest. When you are close to the castle you will need probably to till yourself back in order to see it.
