North And West Costarica
The Costarica (Rich Coast) is one of countries, situated in Central America, among Nicaragua and Panama, and among Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean at the same time. The Spaniards discovered and investigated this territory for the first time at the beginning of 16th century, and shortly afterthat they colonized it in 1563. Costarica is an independent state since 1838.
The spine of a country is formed with three volcanic mountain ranges, which pass coherently from north-west towards south-east. The mountain ranges are divided from each other with two plain lands and basin, known as „Central Valley“, where majority of population is living. More than one third of the country is covered with dense forests.
Costarica was the first country of Central America, which started to export worldwide the bananas, pineapples and coffee. All these products form main export articles at present.
