In the southwestern part of Slovakia, approximately 50 km from Bratislava, lies the town of Galanta. It offers visitors a neo-Gothic castle situated in a city park as well as a Renaissance castle on Esterházy Street. There is also a nice classicist Roman Catholic Church of St. Stephen the King, the Galandia thermal centre, memorials to Karol Duchona and Zoltán Kodály and the house of the Slovak Matice.
