Panenské Břežany – there are two castles in a small center-Bohemian town 15 kilometers from Prague. The lowe and the upper and also a chapel, the work of the famous Santini, a Czech-Italian architect. The history of the lower castle is related to the infamous deputy Reich protector, Heydrich, who used to have a residence in Břežany during the Second World War.
In Benesovsko district in the Region of Central Bohemia, a new observation tower was opened this year. It is a wooden reel and its name is derived from it. A reel is also a synonym for the interconnection of 21 towns within the CHOPOS microregion. CHOPOS initiated the construction. While going to visit the observation tower, you can learn something about the world of birds.
Not so long ago we introduced you Obříství, an unusual central-Bohemian town. Chlumín is located nearby and even there are several interesting things – a castle, a Marian column or the Church of St Mary Magdalene.
As the name implies, it is the ruin of Kostelec nad Sazavou castle. The ruins are visible from Hradecice hill, in Cizov u Tynce nad Sazavou natural reservation. After 300 meters of hike a beautiful view to the valley and the Sazava river opens to you.
There are many beautiful views in the Sazava river in the region of Central-Bohemia. One of them is on a rocky top of Hadi Skala. The view is over a valley right in front of the town of Davle, where the Sazava meets the Vltava River. A circular route mostly goes through forests and easy terrain. The route is 6 kilometers long. The start place is the town of Petrov. From there we follow the yellow path.
Mělník: who did not know the name of this town, popular at least according to the name, famous through its wine cultivation and confluence of two most important Bohemian's rivers, i.e. Labe and Vltava?
