If you ask, where you can find the oldest building in the Czech Republic we will answer you – in Budeč. This sight that you can find in town of Zákolany – Kováry just few kilometers from Kladno, is inseparably and firmly connected with the history of Czech people.
Kladno. When people hear the name of this city, most of them think of a forty year old man with earthy humor, who conquered the world with his art with a hockey stick. We visited Kladno during the time of the interruption of NHL season, in time when Jaromír Jágr plays in Kladno. It is evident that the city lived hockey.
The castle is not a historical building yet it enjoys high number of visitors. Couple of kilometers west from Prague a structure that looks like a castle was built in 2002. You can see there couple of architecture styles. The garden and its structures is nice thing there. The true historical sight there is the 17th century Hajek Monastery.
The core of Melnik is its Peace Square (Namesti miru). There are all important sights around the square just couple of meters one from another. Very friendly staff in the visitor’s center is very resourceful and helpful throughout entire year. The entrance to the city’s underground is also at the center. A corridor below the ground can get you to the widest well in the Czech Republic
