Mnisek pod Brdy is a charming town in the land around the foot of Brdsky Ridge, a place where gold used to be mined. Historical center is a landmark zone. Its primary sight is the church of St Wenceslas.
Beroun is easily accessible from Prague or from Plzeň. Thus in time when it is considered modern to live outside a big city, Beround becomes favorite plays for Prague “fugitive”. It is around 30 kilometers from Prague and it is well connected with the metropolis. To Plzeň it is about 75 kilometers from Beroun.
The castle is not a historical building yet it enjoys high number of visitors. Couple of kilometers west from Prague a structure that looks like a castle was built in 2002. You can see there couple of architecture styles. The garden and its structures is nice thing there. The true historical sight there is the 17th century Hajek Monastery.

The closed military area of Brdy will be open to the public. It means that only 90 kilometers from the south end of Prague you will have an opportunity to walk somewhere beyond Rozmital through the woods without stumbling upon any settlement or a busy road!
In the comming weeks we are about to see some of the most beautiful places in Brdy. First, however, we talk about Brdy protected nature area in general. It is one of the newest protected nature areas in the Czech Republic being established in January 2016. Therefore, areas which were of once restricted access.
Central-Bohemian town of Dobrichovice is a perfect tourist destination. It is located only thirty minutes to west from Prague. Moreover, the town is on a railway so your traveling there would be really easy.
