Mountaineer guide, Trekking
Autumn is already there in Lower Austria. The autumn is linked with wine. There are over 100 Lower Austrian towns preparing celebrations.
No one was born all-knowing. One has to try ferrates before knows their secrets. Where to find them? Near Czech-German borderline. There are ferrates of three difficulties and you can train there all day long without being disturbed by crowds of other ferrate fans.
Sun beams peak from behind fluffy clouds to dry puddles on a forest path. Water flowing down the stream flows over bumpy bed. Dropplets covered moss covered trunks with drew. The air smells of needles and resin.
It is not necessary to provide you with some extensive introduction of the High Tatras. These mountains are simply splendid. They lay in the heart of Europe, being a well-known and popular destination among domestic and foreign tourists. Mostly those who love alpine treks travel here frequently. Koprovsky peak (2367 m) is one of the most famous and most visited points of interest there.
One beautiful day we came into conclusion to climb one of the Tatranian shields. Therefore, we travelled to Strbske Pleso lake and from there we set off for the Salisko summit.
There soon will be spring. And a new tourist season as well. Please accept our invintation for this slightly difficult yet beautiful climb to one of the most beautiful summits in Slovakia – Velky Choc.
Tourism is great in winter as well. And this was our motto for our trip to the Mala Fatra Mountains and its peak Velky Rozsutec, the dominant sight of the mountain range.
The weather in the following morning was amazing and sunny. Upon packing all of our things we set off. Following the yellow tourist trail we reached a red route. Then we followed the green route which got us to Polana. There we climbed an unmarked trail up to the summit of the Vihorlat, the peak of the day.
The Vihorlat (or the Vihorlat Hills) is a volcanic mountain range south of the Bukovske Hills. Majority of this mountain range formed in the Neogene. Its geomorphological formation finished about 9 million years ago.
On the following day, we woke up in sunny yet quite cold morning. We packed our things, ate something and set off to another day in the Bukovske Hills, especially after we found out how many spiders accompanied us in our sleep and how many holes are in the hut. Our plan for that day was to descend following the red tourist trail. We would travel through Ruske, once a village, Zalomy saddle to Runina village. The hike would take us around3 hours. However, actually it was one hour longer as we stopped often to take breathtaking pictures or to rest
The beauty of the rocks lays in their grey color, variety, uniqueness, and silence with which they stand in nature. The stone is inanimate but the rock breathes and beats like your heart once you are on the top. We set of to Pfaffenstein mountain and Barbarine rock pinnacle. Both of the localities are along Saxon Switzerland’s most beautiful trail.
After a long train ride we finally reached the easternmost village in Slovakia – Nove Sedlice. It was raining heavily at the time of our arrival therefore we headed right towards Kremenec guest house. Except for affordable prices they have quite good food. And we couldn’t refuse east Slovakian beer Saris. It was pretty water compared to Czech beers.
Right behind Decin the gates of Saxon Switzerland open. The origin of its name come from the times of two Swiss young men studying in Dresden who said the area reminds them of home.
Bukovske hill is slightly low geological formation in Slovakian east partially being on Polish territory in its north and partially the Ukrainian on its east. Much of the territory is protected by the UNESCO and a part of the Poloniny national park which was declared in 1997.
In case you are looking for a more complex ferrate then visit Drachenwand in the Austrian Alps. To get grandiose look over Mondsee and Dachstein you need to be physically fit, have inner strength and experience. Thanks to this you will enjoy your climb up the Dragon Wall (Drachenwand) and also the view of the Alps.
Alpine air, mountains, lakes, and the peaks of majestic giants, and Dachstein glacier in the background. Such are the moments you can experience at Katrin ferrate that is at the altitude of 1542 meters.
Lets see one of the most beautiful via ferrates in the Alps. Calm surface of blue salt Traunstein lake is beneath you guarded by the Julian Alps. Dachstein bows in the distance, Totes Gebirge and Bohemian Forest are in the distance. This is Traunstein.
Metal sound of carabiners, metal ladder, craps, sharp edges of the rock, unforgettable vista of Labe valley.
Due to bad weather we go to the Reinhold Messner – Firmian museum. It was opened in 2006 at Sigmundskron castle. I have to admit the castle is a great place to present the history of mountaineering.
On the second day of our expedition, we visit Passo Pordoi pass (2 239 m). More apt climbers climbed Piz Boe (3 115 m). The weather is great once again. Therefore, we will take a cable car up to Sass Pordoi (2 950 m).
Are you looking for a Via Ferrata where you can try all possible traps? There is rock called the Nun on the Czech-German border. A rope is winded around it as well as cramps, ladders, a bridge, overhangs, gorges, and abysses.
Last year, I met some great people who like to travel around the world. This time they were about to travel to Dolomites and they took me with...
We chose to travel along paid Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse road, a mountain freeway that is 48 kilometers long. But due to various turns and stops it would be quite long…
Arco is a paradise for climbers in Italy. There are more than 20 climbing areas of varying difficulties and lengths. Everybody, boulders or fans of ferratas, will love the place. The town is a very pleasant place. Its picturesque town center has many restaurants and also climbers’ stores. A castle is the main landmark of Arco. It guards the town from the heights.
Me and my friend decided to make a trip. The planning was great. I had look around in many handbooks, searched for inspiration on travel agencies’ websites and so on. Eventually, we agreed upon seeing a beautiful place near Salzburg. The village of Abtenau which would serve as the base for our trips around.
