SK, Liptovská Anna – Tourist Trek up Čerenova Rock
Since we like hiking, today we will take you to one beautiful place. Our starting point will be the picturesque village of Liptovská Anna (Liptovský Mikuláš District), the origin of which dates back to the year of 1396.
A small Liptov village below the massive Choč Hills was formerly known for sheep breeding, production of wooden dishes, violins, growing crops or burning alcohol and lime. At present, it offers at least two remarkable sights to be seen before the hike. The first is certainly the ruins of the church of St Anna. It is a single nave Gothic building. Right next to this sacral monument stands a wooden belfry. A little further you will see the single-storey log house Lidový dům No. 33 from the first half of the 20th century or the historic state folk school. For the sake of completeness we mention that above the village rises Liptovsky castle, but cadastrally belongs to the neighboring village Liptovska Sielnica.
The inhabitants of Liptovská Anna were actively involved in the Slovak National Uprising, even in the vicinity of the village was a strong guerrilla group. The 120-year-old linden tree in Ďurice Park certainly remembers this event and many others. But there were enough wanderings of municipalities, let's go on a hike!
A rock cliff behind the village - Čerenová - is a popular tourist site. Situated at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, this Table Mountain offers beautiful views and a legend. For the beginning of the tour we chose the local square where you can park. Gradually we moved to the end of the village at the mouth of the valley, from where we joined the forest road. After approximately 100 meters, it turns right onto the visible path and after 100 meters on the left. The trail is marked with an arrow and a red tourist sign, but it is not officially included in the hiking trails, so do not be surprised that you will not find it in the tourist map.
Gradually, we climb to the top. After about 40 minutes of more difficult climb we reach the rock plateau. According to a bandit legend, it is called Jánošík's Table and you can really refresh yourself here. As we move closer to the escarpment, we have a breathtaking view of the Liptov basin the Liptovska Mara waterwork, as well as the majestic Tatras. Cracked rocks (scraps) are decorated with beautiful flora. There is also a wooden cross with a cabinet for the record book.
The climb to Jánošík's table can be done with a little fitness and children or a relatively proficient bajker. If you do not think it is enough, you can also take a climb to Pravnáč (1,206 m), to the Liptov Castle or to the Prosiecká Valley. Visiting the village Liptovská Anna associated with tourism was a great summer experience for us, which we highly recommend.
