Český les (Bohemian Forest) - Czech republic

Český les is  a highland situated in southwest Bohemia nedar to the border with Germany.

This mountain-range is extending from Cheb-Basin ap to Všeruby-Hignland  dividing Český les from Bohemian Forest. The highest point is Čerchov ( 1042 m), where you can find Kurz look-out-tower, according to  Dr.Vilém Kurz, founder of Czech Tourists Club.

Your excursion could be started in the town of Cheb. This route has middle stage of difficulty. You drive along Jesenice water reservoir. Here, you find a lot of places for bathing, swimming and water sport activities. You pass Starý Hroznatov, the community, where one of oldest castles is to be found. We recommend you to visit Loreta Shrine, with several small chapels. Would you enjoy the beauties of Nature Park of Bohemia Forest.

Further, you drive via Kozly and Mýtina, towards border crossing with Germany (Mýtina-Neualbenreuth). Leaving the territory of Czech Republic, you drive throughout the town of Neualbenreuth, passing Grenzellandturm (circular view towards Bohemia as well as Bavaria), and continue ahead, via places of Platzermuhle, Schachten and Poxdorf, just to the town of Waldsassen.

Here, local sightseeings are recommended to be visited. It is worth to visit Kappel - St. Trinity Church of 17th century. Further, you turn aside to the right, passing Munchenreuth, Schloppach and Hatzenreuth, driving back to bordercrossing.
