Český les (Bohemian Forest) - Czech republic
Český les is a highland situated in southwest Bohemia nedar to the border with Germany.
This mountain-range is extending from Cheb-Basin ap to Všeruby-Hignland dividing Český les from Bohemian Forest. The highest point is Čerchov ( 1042 m), where you can find Kurz look-out-tower, according to Dr.Vilém Kurz, founder of Czech Tourists Club.

From Poběžovice Up To West Borderland

This route has character of middle stage of difficulty. Your excursion could be started from the town of Poběžovice. Here, you can find a complex of Augustinian Order monastery, established in 13th century, destroyed in 1420, and renovated later within 16th century. However, the monastery was cancelled and closed in 1758, nevertheless, the houses were used later as summer seat. The buildings of Baroque style are situated around square-form courtyard.
You continue your drive around Lysá Hill up to the community of Závist. From here, you continue on road towards the community of Rybník, and shortly afterwards, to ruins of Dianin Dvůr (Diana Courtyard) hunting castle. You pass around Záseky Hill-top and join the road in direction to Nemanice. You enjoy the valley of Nemanice brook, and follow the road of IInd class No.189, via Černá řeka (Black River) to the town of Klenčí pod Čerchovem. This place has an interesting past.
Further, you continue your drive via Díly, in direction to the community of Postřekov. On your right part, there is situated nature monument Postřekov Ponds. Moreover, you can have a stop in the community of Štiboř. Here, you can find a ruin of Gothic castle. Finally, you return back to Poběžovice.
