Chřiby - Czech republic

This highland is situated in Moravia between the towns of Kyjov and Kvasice in regions of South Moravia and Zlín. Its length is 35 kms and width max. 10 kms. The surface of Chřiby hill is 335 square kilometres. The highest peak – Brdo – has the height relating to 587 m. As to geomorphology: Chřiby forms part of geomorphological area of Middlemoravia- Carpathian Mountains and subprovince external West-Carpathian Mountains. As to its position: the hills divide ethnographical area of Haná on north from Slovácko in south. Chřiby-hills border with Litenčice-highlands in north, with Ždánický les (forest) in west, with Kyjov-highlands in south and with Low-Moravian and Upper-Moravian Dale in east, following Morava-river.

This educational path makes you acquaintance with the history of community Divoky and with all flora and fauna sorts on the area. You walk through brook valley, where you find information table stop. Further, you continue against brook stream, along left bank, towards Záplety well. Here, you can watch the samples of variegated booths for various birds of prey sorts and owls. You also get the information regarding regulation of rodens. Further, you continue to the pond and shortly afterthat, you reach the meadow and mixed forest.

The way leads you via valley up to opposite slope, where you discover in brook-bed travertine cascade (this formation was created by means of dissolving of carbonate of calcium). This stoff is drifted out the surface. On this place, there is to be found Kamenec, nature monument, where you get acquaintance with warm-loving vegetation. You continue your walking via Chřiby Hills, passing alley of old cherry-trees. Further, the path leads you to meadow edge. From here, there is wonderful view around. Field path leads you towards the community with old school building, where your excursion would be terminated.

Attention: you are not recommended to walk in winter season. You miss a lot of experience, as in spring and summer you can watch many interesting sorts of plants. Along the route, there are to be found fifteen stops. This path is destined for foot-passengers only.
