Slavkov Forest - Czech republic
Slavkov Forest is relatively lowland mountain range, situated in West Bohemia, among Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně. Around this mountain belt, there are to be found Smrčiny, Iron Mountains and Bohemia Forest. The highest peak of Slavkov Forest is Lesný mountain (or hill, better to say), 983 metres high.
Average yearly temperature is moving around 5-6° C. The snow covering is lasting for 120-140 days. Slavkov Forest is declared as preserved countryside area, with extent of 610 square kilometres. Characteristic biotop is formed with peat-bogs. Most of this area is afforested.
