Šumava (Bohemian Forest) - Czech republic

Bohemian Forest is one of the oldest mountain range of Europa. It is a biggest Natural Park in Czech Republic (69 030 ha). Bohemian Forest is situated on the Border of Czech Republic with Germany and Austria. It is formed by rocks of Primary mountains origin. As Natural Park it was declared in 1991. There are many monuments here. The tourists have choice for spending of nice holidays as in winter as in summer. The highest point of Šumava names Plechý (1378 m).

Cycling route to Laka lake

You start your excursion from the town of Železná Ruda up to Debrník, along marked cycling route No.2113. From here, by means of drastic, 5 kms long mounting, following red marked tourist trail, you arrive to the col between Polom and Plesná. Now, you descend to former Hůrka, and continue mounting to Laka Lake. From Laka, you descend on the road in direction to Nová Hůrka, following blue marked cyclo-tourist signed route No. 2115. From here, you drive along cycling route No. 33, via Slučí tah (Wood-Cock Draw). On the road, you turn aside  to the left, and on the crossroad, you turn again to the left on cycling route No.332, through valley of small river of Křemelná, via former communities of Zhltí, Starý Brunst, Nový Brunst. Along asphalted road of very good quality, you reach roads-crossroad, and along cycloroute No. 2120 you return back to Železná Ruda.
