Železné Hory (Iron Mountains) - Czech republic

These hills are situated on north-west part of Bohemian -Moravian Highlands, its highest point is Vestec (668 m). According to the geomorphological arrangement it is dividing to Chvaletice-Hills and Seč-Highlands. In the southern part it is extending the natural reservation of Doubravka Valley. The whole area is, thanks to its position, preferred holiday, touristic and cyclotouristic resort.

This route has eleven stops altogether, where information tables are placed. You will be informed in detailed way about nature and history of this area. Your excursion could be started at municipal office, mounting along field path to Březinka Hill. Here, you can enjoy very nice view around. Further, you will moderately drop towards Železné hory (Iron Hills).

You continue your walking along a road ahead, turning to the left, and after 200 metres you turn to the right following the path, reaching 4th information table. You continue below railway crossroads to a bridge across Doubrava river. So, following this road, in direction towards the forest, and field path, you reach a pond. You cross Doubrava, up to Czech Union of Nature Protectors terrain station. From here, you continue ahead, following the road, turn to the left and through the community towards a church in Sopoty. Further, your route leads you to railway stop, and up to the hill towards cemetery.

Your excursion could be terminated at Sobíňov stronghold.
