Nízké Tatry (Low Tatra Mountains) - Slovakia

Extent: 1258 km²

This mountain complex is most extended mountain range of Slovak Republic and take its central part in districts of Liptovský Mikuláš, Brezno, Ružomberok, Banská Bystrica and Poprad. The nucleus of this West Carpathian Mountain Range is formed with granite and crystalic slates.

Highest peak: Ďumbier (2043 m)

Surface: in its northern part, it is formed mostly with pine-wood forests, in its southern path, there are to be found leafy-woods and beech-tree forests, whereas in higher locations plough-tail is prevailing.

In the area, there are open for public ice-caves, such as: Demanovská Cave of Freedom, Demanovska Ice Cave, Važec Cave, Bystrianska Cave and Cave of Dead Bats.

Low Tatra Mountains are declared as National Park, thanks to local rare and variegated fauna and flora.

This modern ski area is distant only 700 m from the community os Spišské Bystré. It is situated in  Region of Prešov, Low Tatra Mountains, at foot of Králova hol'a Mountain in an altitude of 675-790 metres above sea level. This ski centre is extraordinary suitable for family with kids and for school ski learning trainings.

Kubašok Ski Area offers in winter the following services:

- three well arranged ski descent routes, moderate difficulty stage, with possibility of evening  skiing on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays

- five ski lifts, including one children lift

- covering with technical snow available, if necessary

- one ski running route, 11 kilometres long, one ski running circuit, 4,5 kilometres long

- ski service

- ski learning school for adults and kids

- ski rent

- left luggage room

- snowtubing

- kiosk and restaurant

- horse team available

- accommodation: in hotel, lodging houses or in private houses available

- parking free of charge

During summer season, the resort is ideal starting point for walkings, connected with mushroom and forest fruit pickling.
