Podbeskydy Highlands is situated in north-west part of Slovakia, in Region of Žilina, in Námestovo district. The complex belongs to Central Beskydy area, which form a part of Outer West Carpathian Mountains.

Today we are heading to the Namestovo district, where the picturesque Krusetnice village spans at the confluence of the White Orava River and the Klinianka Stream. The village surrounded by the Podbeskydy Highlands invites visitors to a tour of traditional houses, a beautiful Baroque church and even a ski resort. Yet we today will take you to a unique museum where you smell the irresistible aroma of coffee.

We started our autumn bike trip in unusual town of Oravska Lesna. First break was in the Oravska forest railroad station – Tanecnik. We climbed up the steep hill to a crossroad on the ridge. We continued from there to Sedlo Beskyd station. There we went into the observation platform. Today we go along the ridge one more time to see a beautiful chapel, our last stop.

I am really getting into mountain biking. There was a time I couldn’t even imagine that I would ride across mountain ridges. Even getting across it on foot was difficult. I thought I would give up right below the peak for many times. Today, I am realizing that I might be an enthusiastic mountain biker.

Unique region of Orava is one of the most beautiful yet most unwelcoming in Slovakia. We have visited it for many times in the past. This time we didn’t walk around there but we mounted our bikes, tested our skills, and enjoyed beautiful bike trip.
