Short characteristics:
Stolické Hills are divided into four geological-morphological sub-sections, such as:
- Stolica
- Trstie
- Klenovské Hills
- Malinské Hills
The complex is situated in moderately warm and rather cold climatic area.
The copse is formed with pine-trees, in lower sections with beech-woods and oaks.
Preserved afforested copses are to be found in some hilly ridges only. In not-afforested areas, there are to be found meadows, pasture lands or arable lands.
The appearence of mineral raw materials started the establishment of local small mining towns, such as, for instance, Kokava nad Rimavicou.
