Vepor Hills are placed in Central Slovakia, in Banská Bystrica Region, in Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Detva, Poltár, Rimavská Sobota and Lučenec districts.

Short characteristics:
Vepor Hills are divided into four sections, as follows:
- Fabova hola
- Ciertaz
- Sihlianska plain land
- Balocké Hills
The territory is of crystalinic origin. The area is situated in moderately warm up to cold climatic territory. Polana Protected Countryside penetrates there partially.
You can find there original forests, with virgin forest character (Dobroč Virgin Forest, Klenovský Vepor), pine-trees and beech-woods. In sections, where the forests are missing, you meet meadows, pasture land or arable land.

- Rimava
- Black Hron rivers.
