Short characteristics:
Mountain range of Volovské Hills belongs to granute belt of Slovak Ore Mountains.
Predominant part of these hills is fully afforested, mainly with pine-trees and fir-trees. Beech -wood and oak copses are bound with south corners of this hilly range. Since Middle Age time period, gold, silver, copper mercury and iron ores were excavated in these hills.
You can find there the springs of Bodva-river.
