Vysoké Tatry (High Tatra Mountains)

Hotel Tatranské Zruby, situated in Vysoké Tatry locality, obtained a permission for management of natural healing spa, within scope of public sanitary matters.

The community of Tatranské Zruby forms a part of the town of Vysoké Tatry. The locality is placed in an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level, in a territory of Tatra National Park, between Nový Smokovec and Tatranská Polianka. This community was established in 1923 only, under name of Vojenské Zruby. Originally, it was log-cabin training camp, destinated for mountain units of Czechoslovak Army.

Anyway, after 2nd World War, the community noted a swing, thanks to construction of next accommodation units, destined for rehabilitation and relax stays of soldiers with their families. So, Hotel Tatranske Zruby was built as military (army) recovery house in 1967. At present, after several reconstruction works, the building serves as a hotel, with a capacity of 270 places, in one - up to three bed rooms, congress hall for 200 persons and further services, including re-conditions and healing procedures, such as: water-medical treatment, peat-bog wrappings, etc.

Anyway, last modernization was specialized for a fact that this equipment would correspond to high-level criteria for granting of balneology-licence. The building belongs to the nest of army recovery houses. On the other hand, the permission for management of nature healing spa, enables to offer these services also for public, within scope of public medical treatment. It is to be expected that such change would bring a new impulse for development of the community, especially when in the neighbourhood well-known ski areas, such as Jakubkova Luka or Ski Jamy Tatranská Lomnica.
