SK, INFOFEST – The World Gathered Around in Liptovský Mikuláš for The Third Time
This year's festival was held in a more intimate atmosphere due to measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus. The organizers paid attention to frequent disinfection and, of course, compliance with all regulations of the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic. They passed this test very well, so all participants of the festival were free to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.
On Friday, visitors moved through lectures to India, Canada, Portugal, completed a trip across South America, along the legendary Pacific Ridge and got to know the charming Istanbul. A bonus was a unique lecture on ski mountaineering combined with the author's autograph session of ski guides. The highlight of the day was a raffle draw and a concert by singer Kristína.
Saturday's festival program followed on from Friday's. Visitors went to distant New Caledonia, Chile or Oman. They laughed at the painful journey of a 32-year-old Lady from Mongolia to Slovakia and a 30-year-old caravan through Syria and Turkey. They also got to know the hidden beauties of the Czech Republic and Scotland. Cycling enthusiasts enjoyed traveling around Iran, and last but not least, they were all interested in a slightly untraditional art lecture full of landscape photographs with musical inserts by Jan Svetlana Majerčík.
At the end of the festival, visitors competed for an attractive tourist book series, learned the results of the raffle, and the ceremonial end was followed by a performance by the folklore ensemble Váh.
Short outdoor films or travel videos were also screened during the festival. The "painting on the square" was also a success, where the children had to paint a nice picture on the theme of travel for a sweet reward. The organizers also thought of hungrier visitors, for whom all sorts of buffet snacks were prepared, even with freshly baked trdelníky.
Many thanks to all who participated in the festival - whether organizers, partners, sponsors, spectators or performers! Without them, the festival would not have taken place.
