The Church of the Holy Trinity, the bell tower with one of the oldest bells in Bohemia and the Baroque complex of Kolowrat Castle are historically the most valuable buildings in the city. You can visit all of them with a guide and transfer to the beginning of the 17th century. A local native and author of the novel There were five of us - the writer Karel Poláček - also left his mark in Rychnov. The sculptural group, the memorial and the Poláček's Summer Theater Festival bear his name.

Not far from Hradec Kralove, there lies a town famous for its unique carving - the Probost´s mechanical nativity scene. This national cultural monument can be found in the Museum of Nativity Scenes in Trebechovice, in a newer house built in the corner of the square. The nativity scene was refurbished in between the years 2015 and 2016 to keep it operational. And it is operational. Every day of the week except Monday.
When young Count Ervin Kinsky lost his fondness of former chateau, now called Stary Zamek, he intended to built a representative residence for the family. The construction of Novy Zamek took place between the years 1829-1833. The old Baroque-style chateau with two stories is separated from the gardens by royal road. It has remained the seat of the dominion.

Let's start with a riddle: do you know a city that has its main square named after a literary figure? You may remember that the Kadaň embankment is named after Maxips Fík, in Pilsen the streets have figures from Quick Arrows and several towns and villages did not resist recessive ideas and paid tribute to Jár Cimrman. But the central square named after a literary figure has only the charming East Bohemian Dobruška: F. L. Věka Square and then the town of Trutnov - Krakonoš Square.
