A mysterios seaport time in the southeast of Scotland is place where movie legends such as Sherlock Holmes or Harry Potter were born. This is how we could describe Edinburgh. The city is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. There are beautiful ancient street lined by beautiful, amazing medieval-Gregorian architecture. We can find there stylish bars and great whisky. There is a massive castle above this city. Inside its castle you will learn about its secrets in its chambers.

When one is in Scotland he/she should’t miss Edinburgh, its capital. This city located near the sea is worth at least several day stay. Still, you should bear on mind that you wouldn’t see everything.
Are you fascinated by Scottish castles? Against the dark sky, walls with gothic windows over the centuries lashed with rain and overgrown with rich green grass provoke our imagination longing to know at least a small piece of their stories. Castles and ruins of churches, monasteries and medieval buildings built from the local dark stone are a typical decoration of the beautiful and dramatic Scottish landscape.
It is time to leave the landscape of lakes, mountains, and long valleys in the center of Scotland and head through the inhospitable wasteland to the north to Thurso in sight of the Orkney islands. Instead of the highway A9, leading along the coast, I also chose deserted roads through endless moors and wetlands.
We leave the Aviemore summer resort and travel down to the south to Perth. There we intend to spend our last night in Scotland. We are about to travel for hour two hours by car.
The last time when we visited Windsor together we noted that it is one of the most beautiful castles ever. However, once you lay your eyes on Warwick, you realize that it constitutes significant competition to Windsor. Warwick is a massive medieval castle situated by the River Avona. It's history dates back to early Middle-Ages. In the year 915, it was built by the daughter of Alfred the Great, the King of Wessex. This castle soon became an important seat of power. Its lords were even called "kingmakers"
Birmingham is known mostly to the fans of sports for it was here where the European league was born as well as the sport of tennis (in the end of 1850s). The city was founded in the times of Anglo-Saxon immigraiton. However, it became the center of trade only in the mid 12th century.
If you happen to travel to England some day, you will surely want to visit its most famous city - London. And then ask yourself a question - what will I actually see apart the famous red buses and Big Ben? Is it worth it? Yes it is! London is the city of history, art, and culture. It is ideal for people who like museums, or galleries.
North Devon is a part of Devonshire, a county in the southwest of England. In the north it borders the Bristol Bay. This area is great for anyone intending to experience true English countryside and nature. Tourism and agriculture creates significant proportion of income of the local population. Thanks to that, the region has kept its 19th century atmosphere and its typical meadows, fields, and wild coastline.
If you want to enjoy atmosphere of traditional England, its stone houses and glittering sea in the background mark the area of southern Devonshire.
My visit to Scotland was coming to an end, but I still had about 2,000 kilometers to go home. But Scotland is beautiful, so why hurry? So I stopped at several places on the Isle of Skye and gradually reached the highest mountain of Ben Nevis.
Today, we visit one of the four countries creating the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is Scotland which is situated in the north of the island. The Atlantic Ocean creates its boundaries on the north and the North Sea in the east.
So what next you should miss when in Edinburg? For example Royal Yacht Britannia that traveled astonishing 1 million naval miles in its existence, it is as if the yacht traveled around the world for 40 times. In 1997 it was put out of service and today it is opened to the public.
The Scottish referendum is popular topic in world media. Even if the Scots decided not to get out of three hundred year long relationship with England. It is almost certain that London would loosen its tight to Scotland. It is a question how would Scotland do as an independent country and how its would fare on international level.
Already in the summer of 2011, I was in Scotland for a few days visit. But this time it was different. And maybe even a little crazy. At this time I was a fresh adult student, only with a flight ticket to home, about three hundred pounds in his pocket and an overnight stay for the first night.
