After a week we return to Merida, where we will visit some of the other ancient sights, such as the Roman amphitheater with a huge auditorium for 15,000 spectators, who were also watching gladiatorial matches. The amphitheater was so vast that there were also naval battles in it, because the stage could be flooded and the ships were let off by a gate.
