SVK: Sabinov - East Slovakian Small Town

Small town of Sabinov is placed along Torysa-river, East Slovakia, Prešov Region. The locality has twelve and half thousands of inhabitants. Such quiet town is only 18 kilometres distant from regional town of Prešov. No doubt, you can admire there a lot of places of interest. Except many culture monuments in city centre, you have to take in mind, that a film „Obchod na korze“ („Promenade Shop“) was shot there during summer months of 1964. This film became famous in the history, when the American Film Academy awarded golden statue Oscar Prize as the best film made of foreign language. The town is surrounded with marvellous nature. You can find there winter skating place as well as swimming pool. In Drienica, close to Sabinov, you can enjoy popular ski resort, being available each year for all lovers of winter sports.
