Slovakia's third largest city – Presov – is a place which boasts with over 300 cultural landmarks, beautiful nature and unique atmosphere. It is a center of education and culture. There are many gems such as the replica of the Shroud of Turin. Solivar, local technical landmark, was renovated not long time ago. There is Alexander Duchnovic theater, the only theater in the world which performs plays in the Ruthenian language. Moreover, Presov is sort of the entrance gate to the diverse region of Saris. The latter is one of the most beautiful places in eastern Slovakia. Find inspiration in the following photographs and set off for your adventure of your own.

After Prešov and the medieval Šariš Castle, we will go into nature today. We will discover the place of mining of expensive (Slovak) opal for you, we will ride the Lopušná dolina by bike and complete the tourist crossing along the Tatra highway.
Travel with us to northeastern Slovakia, which is attractive throughout the year. However, the winter season offers a more magical view of the countryside, downhill skiing and cross-country skiing, but you can also relax.
Last week we wrote about the history of construction and the symbolism of plague columns in Europe, today we will focus on these sights in Slovakia. Marian columns are the largest here. These are typical of a depiction of the Virgin Mary with a child or a statue of the Immaculate Conception (Immaculate Conception) on top of them.
Not only the notorious High and Low Tatras or Great and Little Fatra, but also smaller mountains in northeastern Slovakia boast nature, protected animals and plants, but also beautiful views from the network of restored lookout towers.
