In norheastern Pennsylvania, the town of Altoona. In the US, this town is mostly known for its railroad industry. Here you may see a huge landmark of Horseshoe Curve, the Railroaders Memorial Museum, the oldest wooden rollercoaster, or the Holy Communion. Today we will make a few trips from Phoenix to the surrounding area.
From cold Alaska, we head to the midwestern state of Michigan, where the city of Grand Rapids, the second largest in the state, awaits us. Historically, it was one of the centers of the furniture industry, home to five of the largest furniture companies in the world. No wonder Grand Rapids is nicknamed the "City of Furniture."
What you think of when somebody says “America”? Perhaps it won’t be Yellowstone National Park nor Hollywood. Even though both places are great. You rather think of the Statue of Liberty or Central Park. The true symbol of the US is New York, the “capital of the world” as it is often referred to.
We left the Islands of Adventure for another theme park of many others surrounding Orlando, Florida. There is a lot to choose from. We, however, take a look at a place that is somewhat closer to us in some respects.
The world famous Hawaiian islands evoke contentment, peace, just all pleasant feelings you experience while in a vacation.

Last week we introduced you the most famous theme park in the world. It radically change the city of Anaheim. Once a sleepy Californian town became one of the most important cities in the state and revolutionized the entertainment industry.
Today we jump over the Atlantic to se eone of the most popular places in the world.

Grand Canyon National Park is another American national park. And it is one of the oldest ones. It is sitauted in the state of Arizona and majority of its area conists of Grand Canyon created for millions of years by the Colorado River and tectonic plate activity. It is very deep and layers of old rocks are aparent on its shores. The landscape is influenced by erosions and other geological activities it is in the state of constant change.
I decided to spent part of Christmas in the former capital of the State of Pennsylvania and the whole United States. During my introductory au-pair course I met a Czech with whom I still stay in touch, she invited me to her home in Philadelphia.
