Spring is already in full swing and the sun only encourages trips. We probably won't look beyond the borders right away, castles and chateaux are still closed so far, but it doesn't matter at all, because the nature itself is beautiful. In the Orlické Mountains you can go hiking, but also choose one of the bike paths and set off, the routes are less demanding, but also quite difficult. So choose according to your possibilities. If you are interested in living in a fairy tale, head to Julinčino Valley and the village of Hamernice, traditional architecture awaits you in Rokytnice, we also recommend a trip "to the end of the world" to Neratov, where there is a unique church with a glass roof. If you are interested in the mystic, you should definitely not miss a visit to the mountain settlement of Kačerov. Don't wait for anything and just go.

If you like beautiful, remote places spiced by interesting past and present there is one I am going to tell you about today. The place is called Neratov situated in the Orlicke Mountains. Neratov has a temple with unique roof of glass.
Let's start with a riddle: do you know a city that has its main square named after a literary figure? You may remember that the Kadaň embankment is named after Maxips Fík, in Pilsen the streets have figures from Quick Arrows and several towns and villages did not resist recessive ideas and paid tribute to Jár Cimrman. But the central square named after a literary figure has only the charming East Bohemian Dobruška: F. L. Věka Square and then the town of Trutnov - Krakonoš Square.
If you want to see how a life in fairy tale looks like head to the Julincino Valley and Hamernice village in the Orlické Mountains, near Rokytnice. There is an unforgettable walk along the river Ricek in the beautiful countryside and between the timbered buildings.
If you are planning to make a trip to the eastern part of the Orlicke Mountains, you should definitely stop in a beautiful town at the foot of the mountains. There you will find traditional architecture and beautiful countryside.
Parked cars with Prague license plates at ancient trees is a thing that you would see if you had travelled in summer to Kacerov (15 km from Rychnov nad Kneznou). In the following season, Kacerov becomes a solitary place. I love it for one concrete location – a church and its cemetery.
At the foothills of the Orlické Mountains, visit the small town of Vamberk, which is famous for its bobbin lace. Perhaps you will be amused that one of its district goes by the name Peklo (Hell). Also, the mummy, which you may in the Broumov Monastery, comes from this place.
An inconspicuous city at the foot of the Orlicke Mountains, famous for its lace technique and skilled women, whose numbers have fallen rapidly since the time of fame. Interest in lace also fell. The lace museums here will guide you through the centuries-old tradition of lace-making, and when you're lucky, you can find lace festivals or the International Lace Makers Gathering. Yes, there are two museums in Vamberk due to social changes. We will visit Vamberk at the Na Vyhlídce cottage, at the crossroads of hiking trails.
