One of the largest core mountain ranges in Slovakia - High Fatra offers a plethora of hiking trails, natural beauties and mysterious corners. It is a home of rare animals and still belongs to natural environment not much negatively influenced by human activity. Join us on a night and day winter walk, where you can enjoy views of the sunrise, panoramas of the surrounding mountains and city lights deep in the valleys.

Everybody knows the community of Donovaly, situated in Central Slovakia. Maybe, this locality could be connected only with a memory of perfect skiing or dog-team races, organized there each year. Anyway, it is worth to visit this wonderful region of Slovakia during any year season, not only in winter.
As Slovakia is a diverse country full of natural beauty, it offers us many opportunities for winter activities. Even today, therefore, we will bring you 5 tips for winter hiking trips that appealed to us.
The Mala Fatra is a known and renown area. We hardly need to introduce it to you. This mountain range, along the High, Western, and Low Tatras, is considered one of the most beautiful and most visited mountain ranges in Slovakia. In the article today, we take you on a winter hike onto the main ridge of the Mala Fatra and its second highest peak of Maly Krivan.
Tourism is great in winter as well. And this was our motto for our trip to the Mala Fatra Mountains and its peak Velky Rozsutec, the dominant sight of the mountain range.
Today we set out to discover one picturesque, now extinct, Turčian settlement located in the northern part of the Žiar Mountains. However, before that we will stop for a moment in the village of Brieštie, which is located near the road II. class 519 (branch Slovenské Pravno) in the district Turčianské Teplice.
Recently, a practical book re-edition of tourist guides with a backpack around Slovakia from the family publishing house Dajama saw the light of day. In addition to attractive tourist destinations, it also brings tourist maps.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. Many monuments, museums and open-air museums of military technology have been built over the past decade to commemorate this dark event in our history. They want to remind us not only of the destruction and casualties caused by the war, but also of the victory.
Today we will take you to the picturesque region of Turiec, more precisely to the village of Blatnica, which boasts not only important archaeological finds (eg Blatnice sword), castle and chateau, but also famous personalities and beautiful surrounding nature.
We haven't taken you to mountains in Slovakia for a long time now, so we'll fix it today. We will visit one of the mining gems of Slovakia, which is Špania Dolina. It lies less than 11 kilometers from Banská Bystrica in the arms of the Starohorské Hills.
Summer, fall or winter- visiting Malinho Brdo means great sporting activities. Bikers, skiers and tourists, all will love it here.
If you are among those who love nature, enthusiastic tourist, or winter sports lover, or mountain biking enthusiasts then you know that hills covered with woods, alpine meadows, and great ski slopes are the things that the Mala Fatra offers. And last but not least there are magnificent panoramas.
In previous parts of our series, we focused mainly alpine mountains. Today we focus on the mountains nearly 1000 m lower. We will talk about Small and Big Fatra. This height difference is reflected in the character of the climate of the mountains and therefore also on slightly different of risk of movement in this area.
More than six weeks, we have to you - our readers, bringing a series on safety in the mountains. Today, this series of these articles finishing. In the final part we will tell you what kind of risk you could meet on Small and Big Fatra in the summer time.
Although winter for us this year is very generous in terms of snow, completely free of snow, we're just left. Although not all ski resorts have sufficient snowy, winter sports enthusiasts will certainly come into their own, mainly thanks to artificial snow.
The Mala Fatra mountains, north Slovakia, is a popular destination for holidaymakers. The Mala Fatra is mostly covered by dense forests, the highest mountains of this range are bare. Mincol is a well-known mountain of the Mala Fatra. The mountain is inseparable from the Lucanska part of the range.
One of the most beautiful parts of Slovakia, is situated between the mountains Velká and Malá Fatra. From the north it bordered by a national cultural city of Slovaks – Martin and from the south by Turčianské Teplice, spa town. The area or region is called Turčianská kotlina (basin), in older sources known as Turčianská zahrádka (garden).
Today we go to see the ruins of the second highest standing castle in Slovakia. We will tell you about its history and walk around it.
