The region of Povazi is full of castles. Only a few of them are so distinct that they catch your attention from greater distance already. However, Beckov is such a castle. It will be a trip to the Middle Ages for you. Then it was a residence of kings, aristocrats, and knights. Accept our invitation to see through the lense of our camera a journey in time.

Summer is in full swing and it is the best time for family trips. Medieval castles are among the most popular attractions. Children and adults enjoy this. That's why we were fascinated by a new book that helps you to discover medieval castles from a new perspective.
On this day we are about to explore the Cachticke Carpathian Mountains. Velky Plesivec is our objective. It is surrounded by a nature reserve of the same name. It's importance lays not solely in its beauty but in its natural characteristics as well.
Today we invite you for a trip just outside the Czech-Slovak border, at the foot of the Little Carpathians. Our base was the Diana Hotel in Nové Město nad Váhom, from which beautiful castles in the fabulous and gentle countryside of the Central Považie are easily accessible.
Ghosts at Bojnice Castle, the spirit of Likava Castle or the treasure at Hrušov Castle. Take the children to Slovak castles and chateaux and introduce them to the history in an interesting way. Only recently did the second part of the Slovak trilogy on children's exploration of castles see the light of day - the attractive publication "Castles for Children".
Today we will look at the Trenčín region for the last time. We start with a walk around the village of Mojtín, which lies in the northern part of the Strážovské hills and is known mainly for its ski resort.
Today we set off on the wanderings in Slovakia near the village of Ladce, which is known mainly thanks to the cement plant (it was built in 1889). This is also related to the natural dominant in the form of the highest peak of Butkovské Parallel Bars - Mount Butkov, which has been conquered for decades to release its wealth in the form of limestone.
We visited Piestany in the begining of this year. The city charmed us so much we had to return there. This time we spent there sevveral days and explored historic city's nature, sights, and history.
On this day, we take you to the realm of small scaled models of castles, chateaux, native houses of many of Slovakia's famous personalities, observation towers, churches, and other types of strucutres.
We visited the most beautiful landmark in Trencianske Teplice last time - Hammam. We also entered the spa park and then admired Kursalon. Today we continue in our walks to explore many new buidligns and beautiful nooks.
After long time, we visited not the highest but certainly one of the most spectacular of Slovakia's mountain ranges – Vrsatska Klipe.
As soon as you enter the Trenčín region, you will find yourself in Matouš's kingdom, which is named after the most powerful ruler and Hungarian nobleman named Matúš Čák Trenčianský. In this kingdom, you can not only admire the beauty of nature and historical monuments, but also visit villages, towns, restaurants and hotels, which work together to offer services and traditions so that everyone feels at home.
The region of Povazi offers many sights, natural as well as man-made. Today we visit one of the latter – Beckov castle is the most attractive sight in Beckov village which is near Nove Mesto nad Vahom.
Last week we began our tour in the spa town of Piestany. We visited the Colonnade, the public park, and Kursalon. Today, we take a look at the House of Art.
The tourist season has already begun. So we are about to set out into the mountains. First, we invite you to join us for a pleasant trip to the Klapy nature reserve situated in Horni Povazi region.
Ski season is just getting started so we visit a resort in the midst of the Povazsky Inovec mountain range.
The castle that once guarded the Vah river valley is easy to spot. It would be a missed oportunity to not to make a stop there. The town of Trencin itself is worth a trip. Throughout the centuries the city, one of the three oldest in Slovakia, emerged around the castle. Today we take a closer look at it.

Last week we introduced you to sights, nature nooks and amazing places of this spa town called Piestany. Today, we put an end to our walks here and visit private port on the other bank of the River Vah. From here we start off an adventurous cruise.
We got on the Lazensky island by crossing the Colonnade bridge. The island is nothing but an oasis of health veiled in landscaped nature criss-crossed with sidewalks. There are many small squares lined with historic buildings hidding great treasures.
We left the former luxurious hotel Grand Hotel Royal and walked down Sad A Kmete street (Winter Street) which takes us through the historic center. Soon we get to the so called Berlin guest houses (Dr Cmunt).
In the last week, we walked through historic center of Piestany and ended up at its functionalist style Colonnade bridge dubbed the Glass bridge.
One of the most beautiful and best preserved castle ruins, which was reopened to the public on the beginning of the summer season this year after several years of extensive renovation, definitely worth a visit.
In western Slovakia along the Vah River there is one of the oldest Slovakian places, an ancient center of market, economy and culture. A city of kings, fashion and the most known Slovakian festival. Please accept our invintation for a short walk in Trencin, a gem of center Povazi.
Trencianske Teplice is a small spa town hidden under the Strážovské Hills. Thus the town is surrounded with green hills. People from various world countries come here to for healing effects of its sulfurous springs.
Two obviously most important sightseeings of Trenčín, West Slovakian Regional town, are connected with powerful rocky cliff. It is majestic Trenčín Castle and a unique inscription from Roman time period, situated at foot of the rock.
