Bata Canal, was used as a water route to transport lignite from Rastikovice, near Skalica, to distant Otrokovice. Today, it is one of the most popular destinations in east Moravia. Despite this it used to have another very important function - it served and provided irrigate surrounding landcape. Today, people use it for recreation, mostly for cruises.

Today's tip for a trip will be Lakšárská Nová Ves, a village located in the southwestern part of Slovakia, in the middle of the Záhorská lowland, in the Morava river basin. It is 17 km away from the district town of Senica and consists of two cadastral areas, namely Lakšárská Nová Ves and Mikulášov. It borders Šaštín-Stráže, Borský Mikuláš or the Záhorie military district.
