Canada is the second largest country in the world. It covers part of North America, neighbors with three oceans – the Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic . Before, Canada was a British colony. Today it is only part of the Commonwealth. Oficial language is English and French and most of the population are Christians. Everyone who love big cities or nature will like the country.
In our photogallery we visit some national parks, fabulous lakes, or mountain village of Whistler.

Canada, British Colombia – Windermere and the Surroundings
The Canadian city of Windermere is located on the eastern shore of the lake of the same name, which is located between two mountains, the Purcell Mountains in the west and the Rockies in the east. The city was founded in 1902 and was named after the city of Windemere in England. People visit Canadian Windemere mainly because of the beautiful nature.

There is another smaller Toronto Island airport in Toronto, but it is used more for domestic flights and flights to nearby cities in the USA.

When we asked at tourist information center, Whistler, where to hike in the area, the recommendations of the lady at the reception were same as the recommendations we got from our friends. They knew the area around Whistler very well. The weather got much better after two days. Therefore we decided for the most difficult trip in the area – to Wedgemount Lake located high in the mountains.
Canada: Banff National Park – Below Bow Glacier Trail
One of the roads in the Banff National Park where you wont meet more than several dozens of people are roads around Bow Lake. We arrived at lake at 7:00 and parked our car by Num-Ti-Jah Lodge (there is a parking lot with dry toilets). Mountains were mysterious, still in morning mist, and sun was hidden behind mountain peaks. Local atmosphere was silent, and really freezing – hat and gloves are necessary.

Another great place of Jasper NP is about 29 km southwards off the town of Jasper. You will get there by following an ascending road going through dense forest. There are many turns and a parking lot at the end in 1762 m. There starts the Trail below Mount Edith Cavell.
