Budimír Chateu
The community of Budimir is situated in a valley of Torysa-river, in a distance of 12 kms from the town of Košice. Here, the tourists can visit small kastiel (chateau) with elegant architecture. It is Neo-classic building of Theresian style, coming from second half of 18th century. Since 1985, a certain part of its spaces was used as a depot of Technical Museum, whereas the remaining rooms were used by local school.
Nevertheless, chateau interiors as well as exteriors undergone successively radical reconstruction, and finally, when all park arrangements were finished, the chateau was open for public in 1990. The rooms with vaulted cross ceilings and Neo-classic wall paintings record historical period, when the chateau was a seat of Uyhazy Parentage. Its total cubby is formed also with collection of historical furniture, pictures and furniture accessories.
The exterior became much mire better by means of newly created park in French style, including fencing in Neo-classical style. At present, the chateau is a seat of one exposition-branch of Košice Slovak Technical Museum. Original idea was directed to present there standard exhibition, but later, the change of each collections, from time to time, proved to be better. So, several exhibitions are taken place here at present. In fact, it is really worth to visit the actual exhibition of historical clock-machines, orientated to time-measurement.
The visitors can see in exhibition rooms the subjects dedicated to history and arts. So, you can admire the reviews of graphic art, photo art as well as actual creation arts. This rich exhibition is added by presentations of collections of antiquities and subjects leased by private collectors at the same time. Budimir Chateau and all types of exhibitions, which are offered there, could be admired daily since 9,00 up to 17,00, except Mondays, when the expositions are closed. The entry ticket costs EUR 1,50 for one person, the reduction ticket costs EUR 1,-.
