Hurray to Liberec!
The ZOO-park of Liberec was open to the public since 1919 is the oldest ZOO-garden in Czech Republic. The ZOO is a living body – thanks to white tigers and extraordinary active and smart monkeys. They stole from the visitors the optics ten years ago and spat the salad or some other things what they had eaten on them from their cages. The attendants had a lot to do with them. They returned lorgnettes instead of glasses and apologized to ladies in white costumes for polluted cloths. The monkeys have their own pavillon at present – the strong glass prevents the public their personal belongings, but it does not reduce wonderful pleasure. Frankly speeking, it was marvelous entertainment nearly for two hours. It is a show not ending sooner as you decide to stop it. Except of merry monkeys, you can in Liberec admire the further 170 sorts of animals.
As you are full of events of ZOO, you can have a trip to Ještěd. You can reach the hill on foot, of course, in winter to use the ski. Those who are tired or lazy can take a funicolare or go by car upstairs. Attention - for them who obtain the driving licence for short time period - the curves upsairs are quite sharp, you must pay attention, it is a hard examination! There is wonderful view around from the top, provided it is favourable weather. In winter you feel rather cold, in summer, on the contrary, there are ideal winding conditions. Anyway, you can be fully protected from rain and winter, visiting the „Building of the Century“. The transmitter station is of 93 m high. The Architect Karel Hubáček gave the construction the face of hyperboloide, it is unusual but interesting. In the restaurant you can taste marvelous pancakes and phantastic ice-cream cups. You can also have a bath in a dam, to visit ice-hockey match and the walk terminate somewhere in a pub drinking glass of beer. Rope-railway to Ještěd is in traffic every day from 8 h to 19h, except Monady.
