Hustopeče
The first known owner of this community was William of Hustopeče, further imporant owners were Králové Monastery of Staré Brno ( since 14th till 16th century) and since middle of 19th century the town was in possession of Liechtenstein Parentage.
As a town, Hustopeče was declared in 1572. The biggest influence for a development of a town had vines growing. In 18th century was Hustopeče, as far as vine-cultivation and vineyard-cultivation are concerned, even the biggest community in Moravia. However, the change happened on breakage of 19th and 20th century when vine-growing dropped violently. Various moulds and roots- vine-phyllorexae destroyed totally nearly all vineyards till 1924.
Vineyards- renovation started when the 2nd World War was over. At present, it got a big importance again. On 1st May is taken place – each year – an exhibition of wines, and at the beginning of December, the parade of archive-wines. You find also a standard wines exhibitopn in reconstructed spaces of Renaissance cellars in house called „ U Synků“.
Except of this, there were created several sporting grounds, such as sporting hall , football playground, covered swimming pool and summer bathing place. In outskirts you find also several cycling vineyard- routes.
