They set free the countryside of trees, and the inundance regime of Elbe was totally changed. So, meadow-forests were established here, as a consequence of all these changes. On humid places, there are planting alder groves, and pine oak-forests, represented with oak cops on sandy elevations. At the beginning of 19th century, there remained several last places with meadow-forests and oak copse, known as Borky. At the beginning of 20th century, the town of Kolín obtained a part of these forests. Later, this area started to be converted into forests consequently.
