A small town near Rychnov nad Kneznou is not known by many. Local area is crossed by the Divoka Orlice River. Nobility built chateaus in the past in the area. Doubdleby town also features a chateau adorned by countless sgrafitti ornaments.

When young Count Ervin Kinsky lost his fondness of former chateau, now called Stary Zamek, he intended to built a representative residence for the family. The construction of Novy Zamek took place between the years 1829-1833. The old Baroque-style chateau with two stories is separated from the gardens by royal road. It has remained the seat of the dominion.

Welcome to our latest addition of our tour across the Bohemian Paradise. This time we go southeast off Turnov. We are about to see beautiful rock towns surrounded by the Bohemian Paradise. We will fallow a red tourist trail dubbed the Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise.

Bohamian Paradise is very popular. People like to return here. This area is situated about 80 kilometers northeast of Prague and is protected nature area (CHKO) established in 1955. It is the very first protected nature area in the former Czechoslovakia. CHKO Bohemian Paradise was founded because of unique rocky towns so they would be preserved for the future generations. Apart from rocky towns, there is peace and quiet, amazing lakes, and many historic landmarks waiting for your visit.

You ride down the hill to the valley. Surrounding you are green hills. White buildings of local automobile factory brighten you. These are the halls of Skoda car company. Since 2012, gearboxes have been produced there. However, we go further into the center. The main landmark in Vrchlabi is St Vavrinec church. Its belfry hardly fits within the lens cope of a camera.

Before the inhabitants of Hradec Kralove decide go to see nature beyond their city they should explore some of their boroughs. Novy Hradec Kralove offers everything what town people look for in the Orlice and Krkonose mountains – clean nature, forests, ponds, trails for bikers. There are also trails for people on wheelchair.

If you like beautiful, remote places spiced by interesting past and present there is one I am going to tell you about today. The place is called Neratov situated in the Orlicke Mountains. Neratov has a temple with unique roof of glass.
