Ústí nad Labem

Status-town of Ústí nad Labem is situated in northwestern Bohemia, at confluence of Elbe and Bílina rivers, in Ústí nad Labem district. The name of a town is probably derived from its position – confluence of two rivers. As to written sources, the first notice comes of 1368.

Chomutov

The town of Chomutov is situated in Northwestern part of Bohemia. In 2006, it was declared as a status town (with more than 50000 inhabitants) and belongs to the biggest towns of Czech Republic. It is placed on an important crossing of railway as well as road communications. First written notice comes of 1252, this small town was given to German Knights´ Order.

Litoměřice

The town of Litoměřice is situated in an area of České středohoří (Bohemian Highlands) at confluence of Elbe and Ohře rivers. The nucleus is declared as a Town´s Preserved Reservation since 1950.

Terezín

The town of Terezín is situated 60 kms in northern direction from Prague, not far from confluence of Elbe river with Ohře. In 1782 the town was declared ( by Emperor´s patent) as a free King´s town. Fortress of Terezín was established in 1780 by Emperor Joseph II.

Litvínov

Two seats – Horní and Dolní Litvínov – made the base for establishment of today´s town with 30000 inhabitants. The first notice comes of 1352. The original name of Lutwinov was substituted with German name of Leutensdorf.

Děčín

Děčín is most lower placed town in the Czech Republic , its altitude is 135 m, not far from the German border and 25 kms from Ústí nad Labem distant. It is a centre of National Park České Švýcarsko (Czech Switzerland).

From Roudnice to Budyně

The plain is seemingly not interesting. What can we see interesting in Polabí (Elbe Plain)? We find here the ways interesting not only by surrounding nature, but also by the histotry passed this area. The countryside near the town of Roudnice belongs to those most oldest from the historical point of view.

Hora Svaté Kateřiny (The Hill of St. Catharine)

It is true that the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) as well as Bohemian Forest (Šumava) are more known and visited but many places in Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) have also its charm. The exceptionality of these mountains is consisting in the fact that in spite of rugged nature and often rigorous weather there are many interesting places to see and visit.

Teplice

The town of Teplice is situated in a basin between the Czech Hills (České středohoří) and Ore Mountains (Krušné hory), not far from the German border, offering many interesting monuments, such as cloisters, churches, castles etc.
