Čuba Hill Look Out Tower
Lookout tower
Čubův kopec (Čuba Hill)
Čubův kopec (Čuba Hill) is the highest point of mountain range between communities of Francova Lhota and Střelná, in an altitude of 720,3 metres above sea level. It is placed in East Moravia, in south-west part of Javorníky Mountains, 400 metres distant from Slovak border, and 11 kms distant from the town of Valašské Klobouky.
In 1991, there was constructed here 16 m high wooden view-tower, which was free accessible. Later, in 2004, this look out tower was completely replaced with quite new one building of the same type, and it is two metres higher (the reason for reconstruction: bad technical stage).
View around
From this look out tower, there is very nice circuit view. On north and in west, you can see a basin between Makyta, Javorníky and Vizovice Hills (downstairs, there are placed the villages of Valašská Senice and Francova Lhota). You can also enjoy nice view towards highest Walachian community of Pulčín or a mast of Doubrava look out tower. In north-west direction, you can see, at favourable weather conditions, even Hostýn Hill with wind power station.
In south and on east, you can see belt of White Carpathian Mountains with hills of Kyčera, Končita and Královec, Lyský Pass, dividing White Carpathians from Javorníky and a part of Púchov Valley. At favourable visibility and clear weather, you can see on eastern horizon the walls of Sulov Rocks and even Low Tatra Mountain Ranges. In look out tower highest floor, you find tables with descriptions of your views in necessary directions.
