SK, Tatras for Children – Tourism Full of Joy
Published: 12.6.2019
If you are planning a trip with your kids, the Tatras are an ideal destination, as well as a new book from the family owned publishing house Dajama. There are 25 field trips, which belong to the most interesting places in the Tatras, especially from the perspective of children.

The name the Tatras for Children (Tatry pro děti) contains an entertaining and visually stunning publication intended for children and their parents, which will offer you tips on hiking, cycling, deepen your knowledge, play with you and certainly also want a long-term rest. A very nice addition to the book is a separate painted map of the Tatras with outlined trips authored by Daniel Kollár and Viera Poláková.

Tatras for Children

The book will take you to the painted crosses, or more precisely to the symbolic cemetery located below the rocky wall of Ostrva near Popradské Lake. It is a reverent place for tourists and mountaineers who died in our mountains and abroad. In addition to the short history of this place and the description of the approach, you will also learn that Popradské Lake, as one of the few planting of Tatra lakes in the past, was called Fish Lake, and that there is currently a stream trout. Then you move to the Mengusovske Valley.

Similar depiction enjoys the Mlynická Valley, which is 6 km long, is also included in the book. It has a glacial origin with a terraced shape. The name Mlynické doliny comes from the Mlynica stream, where grain mills once stood at the bottom of the basin. The publication will also lead you to the Skok waterfall, which had a flow rate of up to 30,000 l / s at the time of the flood in 1958. For comparison, only 54 l / s will flow through the rocky threshold in March. which is located in the forest between Strbske and Popradske pleso. With 14 boards together with children we gradually get to know the life of the surrounding forest, learn how the Tatras were created and learn about the danger of avalanches. You will also learn that Štrba has the highest ski station in Slovakia and many other attractions.

Tatras for Children

Trips with children are designed so that even the smallest can handle them easily. The book contains pictograms informing about tour length, elevation, expected duration and difficulty. These will be a good choice for you.

Tatry pro děti

The Tatras for Children book guide is available in any good bookstore or eshop, or you can meet her co-author in person at the Infofest 2019 festival, where we will introduce it to the public and launch by an unconventional ceremony.
