Region of Trnava - Slovakia
Trnava region is located in western part of Slovakia, surrounding Bratislava region. This region borders with three state, such as. Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. Moreover, it borders with Trenčín region and on east with Nitra region.

With its extent of 4148 km², it belongs to small regions of Slovak Republic, with its metropolis, the town of Trnava. This territory is situated mostly in Danube Plain, being divided – from Záhorská Plain – with Small Carpathian Mountains. The highest point of this hills is Záruby (768 metres above sea level), the highest point of Small Carpathian Mountains. This mountain range has a character of highlands, where some plains are appearing. The plains are involved into warm climatic belt. Part of this area, located in Danube Plain, belongs to most dry and most warm in Slovakia. In mountain range, there prevails moderate warm climate. Several big rivers flow through region area, in Danube plain, there are Danube, Small Danube, Váh and Dudváh, in Záhorská low-land the rivers of Morava and Myjava.
In this connection, it is worth to mention water work Gabčíkovo, situated on Danube.
